Starbucks Dark Chocolate Cherry Hot Chocolate

starbucks hot chocolateMy usual Starbucks indulgence is, of course, a hot chocolate. A tall, skim, no-whip, hot chocolate to be exact and my local barista knows it well. Even before I give my order to the cashier my favorite barista has my drink started. What I really love about my barista though is that she is as crazy about chocolate as I am and whenever there is a new chocolate drink on the go she makes sure that I give it a try. Last Christmas it was a peppermint hot chocolate which was a little too sweet for me and before that it was the signature hot chocolate which, in my opinion, just did not measure up to my “usual”. Today, however, my dear chocolate loving barista handed me a Starbucks shot sized cup filled with the newest Starbucks hot chocolate concoction – a dark chocolate cherry hot chocolate. Just a smell of the delicious drink had my mouth watering. The dark chocolate cherry hot chocolate is a delicious combination of your favorite Starbucks chocolate syrup with a sumptuous overtone of cherry that any chocolate cherry lover won’t want to miss out on. A light (if you are a skim milk drinker) milky dark chocolate drink, this one has a sweetness of dark cherry syrup that tastes like a lighter version of the traditional chocolate cherry. This said, make sure you make it a tall because much more than that and you may find yourself feeling a little sick from the extreme sugar content crammed in to this delicious beverage! As far as I know this one hasn’t been officially launched yet but keep your eyes peeled because it’s coming soon!
