I found the Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles at a Lindt chocolate shop in a mall here in Orlando – I’m on a working sabbatical at the moment so you will have to stick with me through the not so great photography. I have always been a fan of the Lindt chocolate truffle balls and I have always adored just about any type of mint and chocolate combination so I knew that I was going to love this new creation, especially when I received a huge bag of them for free with a $20 purchase!

The Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles was a hit even before I tried it because, let’s face it, it’s a winning combination at least it is for those who love chocolate mint!
Taste:
The Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles comes wrapped just like all Lindt Lindor truffles, a small round ball in a plastic wrapper. The dark chocolate mint variety is a dark green color. Upon opening the truffle the first scent that greets me is one of chocolate mint. The scent is reminiscent of a York Peppermint Patty.
As I take my first bite of the Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles I hear a pop as I bite the truffle in half. The outer shall is the perfect consistency, a slightly harder shell hides a smooth and creamy mint flavored center. There is a generous portion of the smooth and minty center which is perfectly balanced with the amount of hard outer shell. There is no faint hint of mint in this combination, there is bold flavorful mint which mixes with the chocolate to give a smooth and consistent flavor. Unlike the York Peppermint Patty where the mint center can become a little sickly and even have a sharp flavor to it the Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles is smooth and sweet without being overwhelming. While the truffle could quite easily make one single mouthful it just as easily makes two smaller and more satisfying mouthfuls that allow you to enjoy the entire experience. It is also possible to melt three of these truffles in to a cup of hot milk and receive a delicious dark mint hot chocolate drink. The lacking of anything in this truffle comes from the chocolate itself which has a slightly bland and near watery flavor that follows up eating a truffle.
The aftertaste of the Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles is one of dark chocolate and mint, there is no real milky taste nor overly sugared aftertaste, it is mostly just a cooling mint.
Ingredients:
The ingredients in the Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles include: Dark sweet chocolate [sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, skim milk, milkfat, soya lecithin (emulsifier), vanillin (artificial flavoring)], vegetable oil (coconut, palm kernel), sugar, cocoa butter, milk, skim milk, soya lecithin (emulsifier), vanillin (artificial flavoring), peppermint oil.
The Bottom Line:
The Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint Truffles is a delicious version of the Lindor truffle. It is not, obviously, the most decadent nor amazing dark chocolate and mint combination that you will ever get your hands on but it is a creamy smooth mint chocolate that is pretty tasty as far as processed bulk made chocolate goes. If you like traditional milk chocolate Lindor balls then you may be disappointed with the dark chocolate in this one; however, if you are a dark chocolate fan then you are sure to love this one.

I have loved Lindt chocolates for many years. I first came across them in Europe where packages of chocolate discs were sold in candy machines. I can remember eating them in a train station waiting for a train. The chocolate discs were half milk chocolate and half dark. Now, when I look for chocolate, I look for Lindt. Thanks for the review.
