Fairytale Brownies

by Amy on April 19, 2010 in Chocolatiers of the World

This week I will be sharing twelve, yes twelve, of the most amazing brownie combinations that you have ever seen. I had heard about Fairytale Brownies through quite a few friends and finally I broke down and contacted them to see if they would be willing to provide me a sample for review. To my amazement Fairytale Brownies sent back twelve brownies all in different flavors and let me tell you they are the most decadent brownies I have ever tasted in my life and I look forward to sharing my experience with each individual brownie with you.

So who are Fairytale Brownies? David Kravetz and Eileen Spitalny are the magic hands behind Fairytale Brownies and it all began in 1992 with a desire to share David’s family brownie recipe and blew up from there! Fairytale brownies are each made with rich, dark Callebaut Belgian chocolate blended with pure creamery butter and farm fresh eggs. Additionally these delicious brownies are all-natural, certified kosher and free of trans fats, hydrogenated oils, preservatives and artificial colors. Could you ask anymore from a brownie? Well Fairytale Brownies expects you to ask more and they have created a range of twelve flavored brownies as well as a range of four brownie truffles so there really is something for everyone!

Since their inception in 1992 things have certainly taken off for this brownie loving pair and their factory is now producing over 2.5 million brownies each year! Isn’t it time that you gave them a try?

Stay tuned this week as I review each of the Fairytale Brownies flavors!

Missionary Chocolates

by Amy on April 13, 2010 in Chocolatiers of the World

Missionary Chocolates week is about to begin and what better way to start than with an introduction to this truly fabulous company whose mission is to provide more than your average truffle!

Missionary Chocolates is located in Portland, Oregon and unlike many chocolate companies Missionary Chocolates has a mission that is more than just good quality chocolate. A few years ago two sisters began a venture in to truffles that they never imagined would catch on so quickly but with a hole in the vegan friendly, gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate market Missionary chocolates were welcomed with open arms. All of the chocolates produced by this family owned company are made with dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan friendly ingredients and to top it off each truffle is handmade and made using only local and organic ingredients!

Missionary Chocolates don’t just provide your traditional milk chocolate truffles either, one glance at their range of unusual truffle flavors and my curiosity was certainly piqued. Truffle flavors include: Vanilla Salted Caramel, Curry Lemongrass, Sweet Raspberry Heart, Dark Chocolate Delight, Smooth Espresso Square, Meyer Lemon Explosion, Choffy, Peppermint Perfection, Glorious Ginger and Spicy Cinnamon Chipotle!

Missionary Chocolates are currently only available in select retail stores in Oregon, Washington, California and New York; however, they can be purchased online through Missionary Chocolate’s website. Individual flavors can be purchased at a price of $15 per box of 4 or $30 for a box of 9. Alternatively boxes can be put together with your choice of truffles at a price of $15 per box of 4 or $30 for a box of 9.

Missionary Chocolates kindly sent me a sample box of their delicious vegan truffles and throughout this coming week I will be sharing with you a review of each truffle so that you can see what two of you will receive when I begin a contest kindly sponsored by Missionary Chocolates!
