It was late last week as I sat in a corner booth at a local bar with a friend who was visiting from out of town that the question of whose chocolate is “best” arose. Now my dear friend, and I love him very much, was so adamant in his convictions over the poor quality of Cadbury chocolate that I admit that I was tempted, if only for a second, to smack his drink right out of his hand. I explained to him that there were far worse chocolate brands in the world than Cadbury’s and gave him Hershey’s chocolate as one example (I dared not mention the fact that I had actually bought and tried chocolate from a Dollar Shop once when I was having a dire chocolate emergency.) Still my friend shook his head with all the conviction of a dog with a shoe in it’s mouth, “no, no, no” he said as he set down his beer – afraid at this point that it may just slip out of his hand, “even my kids agree that Cadbury’s sucks.” Well I wanted to argue the point that if you spread sugar on a piece of cardboard and called it chocolate that kids would give it a try and more than likely at least one would attest to how amazing it tasted, but I refrained. The simple fact of the matter remains that chocolate is a matter of opinion.
