First off this week in chocolate news brings the potential for increased chocolate prices for Lindt. As a result of the increased cost of cocoa Lindt is seriously considering an increase in price for their top quality chocolate. As a result of the economy’s status currently Lindt has been considering any and all price hikes very cautiously.
Also this week in chocolate news a Northlake, Chicago woman is suing McDonalds as a result of second and third degree burns her ten year old daughter received from excessively hot hot chocolate from the fast food retailer.
In the New York Times this week some schools have been banning chocolate milk as a result of the increase in obesity among children. The argument against chocolate milk is based on the sugar content in flavored milk contributing to obesity in children. There is also the argument, however, that flavoring milk is the only way to get children to drink milk and that some milk, with sugar included, is better than no milk!
Lastly this week in chocolate news Nestle has opened two premium chocolate lines in Russia, these lines are dedicated to producing Comilfo chocolate and will also provide plenty of jobs in the area.

Aw, that’s a bummer about Lindt. They do have great chocolate. I think chooclate milk is better than no milk…personally, I’d much rather drink that than white unless it’s with cereal or something else. I drank chocolate in school though.
Drinking milk most important and if it takes a few sqeezes of chocolate – go for it! We use an organic no trans fat chocolate and again, just a few drops, does not increase sugar that much. So the answer is a low sugar chocolate milk. As far as Lindt – boo hoo – do not raise prices. Love their original milk chocolate bar.

It’s such a joke to me that some schools are nixing chocolate milk because some study points to it as an obesity factor. Guess what? I drank it growing up as a kid and I still drink it now. I am not obese! How about these kids get off their behinds and get outside for a little physical activity?
